Bharti Airtel’s share price rose 2.7% to a high of Rs 1,869 on the National Stock Exchange. It was one of the top gainers in the Nifty 50. The surge in the stock price of Bharti Airtel after it reported a net profit jump of over 5 times year-on-year (YoY) in the fourth quarter of the financial year 2024-25. Its net profit stood at Rs 11,022 crore in Q4FY25, compared to Rs 2,071.6 crore in Q4 FY24. However, the stock came off its highs to trade 0.43% higher at Rs 1,828.40.

However, the company said net profit adjusted for exceptional items grew by 77% YoY to Rs 5,223 crore. Its revenue from operations rose to Rs 47,876 crore, up 27% YoY. 

Its mobile Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) stood at Rs 245 in Q4 FY25, a rise of 17% YoY from an ARPU of Rs 209 posted in Q4 FY24. The company’s another key metric, mobile data consumption, rose 21.2% YoY. “Smartphone data customers up by 24 million YoY & 6.6 million QoQ, 77% of overall mobile customer base,” the company said.

Along with the quarterly earnings, the company announced a final dividend of Rs 16 per equity share for the financial year 2024-25.

CITI on Bharti Airtel

The brokerage house Citi has a Buy call on the stock of Bharti Airtel, with a target price of Rs 1,980. The company’s fourth quarter of FY25 was relatively muted compared to recent quarters. Plus, Airtel’s India mobile growth slowed down to 1.3% qoq on seasonality. India & consolidated net debt rose 4% sequentially, primarily due to an increase in India capex and due to cash outgo towards a 5% stake increase in Airtel Africa

Bharti Airtel Q3 performance

The company reported a net profit of Rs 14,781 crore for the third quarter of FY25. However, on an adjusted basis (before the exceptional items), the profit after tax growth was 121% YoY, standing at Rs 5,514 crore. In the same quarter of the last fiscal, Bharti Airtel’s net profit was Rs 2,442 crore. Its revenue from operations increased 19% YoY to Rs 45,129 crore as against Rs 37,900 crore.

The share price of Bharti Airtel has fallen 4% in the last five trading days. The stock has given a return of 1.4% in the past one month and 18% in the last six months. Bharti Airtel’s share price has raised investors’ wealth by 42% over the previous one year. 

To compare, the benchmark index, Nifty 50, has risen 0.61% in the past five sessions. The index has increased by 5.4% in the last one month and 4.44% in the previous six months. It has provided a return of 10.6% in the past one year.
