Many people abhor large, bulky smartphones for the simple reason that they are inconvenient in daily use. These handsets are difficult to use with one hand, have pocket space limitations and there is decreased responsiveness. Some individuals even dislike the increased visibility associated with such larger phones. Phone makers are taking note of this and Samsung is the first brand to have addressed these issues in its latest creation — Galaxy S25 Edge. This is the slimmest Galaxy S Series model yet, and expensive too; prices start at Rs 1,09,999, but it is extremely powerful and smooth with a high-performing processor and user interface. It can handle demanding tasks like gaming, video editing, and running multiple apps simultaneously without lag or performance issues.
The Galaxy S25 Edge, commonly referred to as the “Edge”, is available in two colours — Titanium Silver and Titanium Jetblack. There are two configurations to choose from: 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB. One look at its ultra-slim profile (5.8mm chassis) and it becomes clear that this innovation from Samsung is a remarkable feat of engineering that reimagines nearly every element of smartphone design.
A slimmer and lighter version of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, if I may put it in simple terms. The phone weighs just 163 grams and comes with optimally curved edges and a titanium frame. Titanium metal, known for both its elegance and durability, gives a slim yet sturdy profile to the phone. The latest Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 is used for the front display. It is rated IP68, meaning it can withstand dust and water immersion.
The Edge features a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED screen with a resolution of 3,120 by 1,440 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 2,600 nits. It is the same display as the Galaxy S25+ and does a good job at reducing glare. The screen is responsive and offers crisp details; its brightness can overcome most lighting conditions indoors or outdoors.
Internally, we are looking at a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor from Qualcomm. The chipset powers Galaxy S25 Edge’s on-device AI processing capabilities and offers reliably fast performance all day. The phone also keeps its cool under sustained use thanks to a reconfigured vapour chamber that is now thinner, yet broader for steady heat dissipation. It features advanced and efficient AI image processing with ProScaler. Basically, this is an AI-powered feature that enhances display clarity and reduces noise, providing a superior visual experience. It works by upscaling image quality, making images and videos look sharper, even with lower quality sources.
The Edge integrates AI agents that work seamlessly across multiple apps. Galaxy AI gets better at integrating with daily routines. Features like Now Brief and Now Bar include third-party app integrations for greater convenience and helpful reminders during everyday commuting, dining etc.
There are two rear cameras on the phone. It includes a 200MP f/1.7 main sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and a 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera, but it doesn’t have a dedicated telephoto camera. Whether shooting at 12MP or 200MP, you get splendid shots. There is a 3,900mAh battery, the smallest battery in any S phone. It charges at upto 25W wired, 15W wirelessly, and supports 4.5W reverse wireless charging. Overall, this Samsung phone impresses all around.
