Aircel takes on Reliance Jio; offers unlimited calls and data for smartphones

Following the success of Reliance Jio, more and more network providers have jumped into the wagon to provide consumers with free calls and data.

Following the success of Reliance Jio, more and more network providers have jumped into the wagon to provide consumers with free calls and data. Now, Aircel has rolled out two offers named RC 14 and RC 249 which will enable free calls to any number and network in India. The RC14 offer provides unlimited local and STD calls across every network and is valid for one day. Meanwhile, the RC249 recharge gives users unlimed calling and unlimited data facility for a period of 28 days. With this recharge, you can make unlimited local and STD calls all across the country in any network along with unlimited 2G data. This offer is valid for all Aircel to Aircel (local and STD) and Aircel to other networks (local and STD) calls. The network provider will also provide an extra 1.5GB 2G data to 4G handset users.

Anupam Vasudev, Chief Marketing Officer, Aircel, said, “As we gradually move towards the New Year, we want to delight our customers with an exciting gamut of products that offer them benefits of unlimited calling and data. Both RC14and RC249 are designed for a wide spectrum of users, who want to enjoy free calling and also stay connected online at an affordable cost.” Other network providers with an to match the free 4G service from Reliance Jio, have also introduced unlimited calling and data plans recently. Vodafone has offered unlimited calling for recharges above Rs 144 and free roaming on its own network and 50 Mb free data and for those above Rs 344 unlimited free calls and free roaming on all mobiles network and 300 MB free data for 4G handset users and 1 Gb data for 4G handset users.

Meanwhile, Airtel and Idea unveiled two identical schemes of free calls and limited mobile Internet use which have been priced at Rs 150 and Rs 350 with 28 days validity. State-owned telecom company, BSNL has also said it is considering new ‘less than’ Rs 149 prepaid pack that will offer free calls to all networks from January.
