Xiaomi has officially launched its latest flagship smartphones, the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro, in China. These phones feature Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite processor with advanced camera systems and larger battery capacities.

The Xiaomi 15 series is available in a range of configurations, catering to diverse consumer preferences. The base model of the Xiaomi 15 starts at CNY 4,499 (approximately Rs 52,994) for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. For users seeking customisation, there is also a unique version that offers 40 colour shades, available for the 16GB + 512GB model priced at CNY 4,999 (around Rs 58,884). The Xiaomi 15 Pro starts at CNY 5,299 (approximately Rs 62,404) for the same 12GB + 256GB configuration.

The devices will be available for purchase in China starting October 31st, with several colour options including black, white, green, lilac, and silver for the Xiaomi 15, along with a limited diamond edition.

The Xiaomi 15 features a 6.36-inch 1.5K display with a refresh rate of 120Hz, while the Pro variant boasts a larger 6.73-inch 2K micro-curved OLED display, also with a 120Hz refresh rate. Both screens achieve a peak brightness of 3,200 nits and utilise customised luminous M9 materials, improving power efficiency by 10%.

The camera systems are a standout feature of the Xiaomi 15 series. The Xiaomi 15 is fitted with a triple-camera setup, comprising a 50MP LightHunter 900 primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP telephoto lens. For selfies, a 32MP OmniVision front camera is included.

In contrast, the Xiaomi 15 Pro features a similar primary sensor but is enhanced with a 50MP ultra-wide camera from Samsung and a 50MP Sony IMX858 periscope lens that supports 10X lossless zoom capabilities.

Battery performance has also seen a significant boost. The Xiaomi 15 packs a 5,400mAh battery, an increase from the 4,610mAh battery found in the previous generation. The Pro model boasts an even larger 6,100mAh battery, up from the Xiaomi 14 Pro’s 4,880mAh. Both phones support rapid charging, with 90W wired and 50W wireless capabilities.

Running on HyperOS 2.0, the Xiaomi 15 series is also the first to operate on this new custom operating system, layered over Android 15. This latest software version promises enhanced user experience and functionality.
