Following the launch of the OnePlus 15R, rumours have now started to circulate the next big launch in the flagship numbered series, i.e., the OnePlus 15T. Similar to the OnePlus 13S from earlier this year, the OnePlus 15T is set to be a powerhouse focused on raw speed and upgraded optics in a more compact and affordable package, offering the latest Snapdragon flagship chip. Positioned as the mid-cycle refresh for 2026, the 15T is expected to bridge the gap between the standard OnePlus 15 flagship and the accessible OnePlus 15R.
According to a tip from Digital Chat Station, who has a reliable track record for all leaks related to premium smartphones, the OnePlus 15T will be one of the few devices to harness the power of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, promising a significant leap in AI processing and thermal efficiency without demanding a premium.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 will be the hero here
The T series from OnePlus has always been synonymous with a performance bump, and OnePlus hasn’t made a T version of one of its flagships in a long time. With the OnePlus 15T generation, the brand seems to be experimenting with something new.
The move to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 will ensure faster performance in a mid-range package, much like the OnePlus 13S from the previous generation. Rumours suggest a redesigned Cryo-velocity cooling chamber to ensure the “Elite” silicon doesn’t throttle during intensive tasks — a common concern with early-gen high-performance chips. Hence, the OnePlus 15T could be pitched as a gaming-centric phone sitting above the OnePlus 15R, which uses the lower-spec Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 (the non-Elite chip).
Dual 50MP cameras
While the T models have historically focused more on speed than photography, the 15T is tipped to break that trend with a high-end camera configuration. The device is rumoured to feature a dual 50MP sensor arrangement, likely including a 50MP main wide-angle lens using a Sony LYTIA sensor and a 50MP ultra-wide lens, borrowed from the OnePlus 15. With the ISP (Image Signal Processor) on the new Snapdragon chip, the 15T is expected to support advanced 8K AI-enhanced video and improved low-light photography, bringing it closer to the “Pro” series in terms of output quality.
Display and Design
Expectations are high for a 6.3-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 144Hz or 165Hz refresh rate. Leaks suggest OnePlus might stick to a flat panel to appeal to gamers who prefer tactile accuracy over the aesthetic of curved edges.
OnePlus 15T: Expected India price and availability
While OnePlus has not officially confirmed the device, the OnePlus 15T is expected to debut in the first half of 2026. In India, the pricing is anticipated to hover between that of the OnePlus 15R and the OnePlus 15. The OnePlus 15R starts at Rs 47,999, whereas the OnePlus 15 starts at Rs 72,999. Hence, the OnePlus 15T could be positioned in the price range between Rs 50,000- Rs 60,000.
