Popular communication platform WhatsApp is abuzz with development whispers, hinting at a future update that could upgrade cross-lingual conversations. According to WABetaInfo, a website known for uncovering hidden features in WhatsApp beta versions, the app is working on an automatic message translation feature.
While currently unavailable for beta testers, the report suggests the feature is under active development. This addition would eliminate language barriers for WhatsApp’s vast user base, fostering seamless communication across diverse cultures.
The specific details of the feature remain shrouded in secrecy. However, WABetaInfo’s findings, based on the latest Android beta (version 2.24.15.12), indicate the potential for automatic translation directly within the app. This would eliminate the need for users to rely on any third-party translation services. The exact rollout timeline remains unclear.
WhatsApp recently also launched Favorite feature. It allows users to create a personalised list of their most frequently contacted individuals and groups within the app. This list will be accessible at the top of the calls tab, making it easier to initiate calls with your favourite contacts. This “Favorites” can also be used as a filter for the chat list, allowing to quickly find conversations with the people you interact with the most.
