WhatsApp is set to unveil a refreshed interface for its Android application. After working on this transformation for the past few months, WhatsApp is now all set to introduce it to a select group of beta testers through the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.21.12 update, available on the Google Play Store, reports WaBetaInfo.
The upcoming design change is part of the company’s efforts to give the app a more Material Design 3-inspired interface. This includes the introduction of new colours and icons to offer users a sleeker and more visually appealing experience.

Apart from the visual overhaul, WhatsApp also brings a brand-new feature into the mix: a group chat event system designed as a built-in reminder for community group chats.
The new interface for now is available exclusively to a limited group of beta testers. It introduces a fresh set of icons and a new green hue theme colour for both light and dark modes. The chat bubbles and the floating action button also receive a vibrant colour makeover.

The report notes that WhatsApp may introduce smaller interface changes incrementally, such as releasing new icons without implementing the full-colour scheme immediately. Consequently, more users can look forward to experimenting with the new interface in the coming days.
The new interface will initially be available to a limited number of beta testers who download the latest version of WhatsApp beta for Android from the Google Play Store. However, it will gradually roll out to a broader user base over the coming weeks.
