WhatsApp is making significant updates to its iOS app, with the latest beta version, 24.23.10.76, now available through the TestFlight program. According to WaBetaInfo report, this new update introduces an exciting feature that allows users to add captions to GIFs and even edit them before sending, significantly improving the app’s multimedia-sharing capabilities.

One of the standout features of this update is the ability to add captions to GIFs directly from the app. Previously, users who wanted to add captions to a GIF would need to download it from a browser, save it, and then upload it manually to WhatsApp. This process was cumbersome and time-consuming, especially for users who wanted to share multiple GIFs with personalised captions. Now, with this new feature, users can simply tap and hold a GIF in the GIF picker and choose the option to add a caption before sending it.

This feature adds more context or personalisation to the GIF, which could be useful for users wanting to express emotions or provide additional commentary. Whether it’s adding a description, a funny remark, or an inside joke, this enhancement will make WhatsApp GIF-sharing more engaging.

In addition to the caption feature, the WhatsApp beta for iOS 24.23.10.76 also introduces GIF editing capabilities. Users can now trim GIFs directly in the app, allowing them to remove unnecessary parts from the beginning or end of the animation. This is especially useful when a GIF includes long intros or outros that detract from the most important or humorous part. By trimming GIFs, users can focus on the relevant moments they want to highlight, making the GIF more impactful and fun.

The new features, which are currently being rolled out to a select group of beta testers, will become more widely available over the coming days. Users who are part of the TestFlight program can install the latest WhatsApp beta update to start testing these features. However, not all users will see the update immediately as the features are being gradually distributed.
