In today’s digital era, spam calls and messages are getting out of control. We exchange millions of contacts and email addresses, which has become a part of both personal and professional life. This often leads to receiving fake or spam calls and texts. On top of this, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) has made these fraudulent activities even more powerful and harder to detect.
Well, if you are a Jio user, you might be able to avoid such fraudulent activities. Below are the steps you can follow to permanently block spam texts and calls. Let’s get into more details.
Permanently Block Spam Calls and Texts
If you are a Jio user, you can easily block unwanted messages and calls. This feature is available in the MyJio app. Here’s how you can block these texts or calls:
Start by selecting the ‘Do Not Disturb’ (DND) mode. Please note that this option can also block some telemarketing calls.
How to access the ‘DND’ option? First, open the MyJio app.
Next, click on the ‘More’ option. Here, you will find the ‘Do Not Disturb’ option.
Now, click on the DND option. You will see two options: “Fully Blocked” and “Promotional Communication Blocked.” Choose the one that suits your needs. Now, you are all set to permanently get rid of spam calls and texts.
Other Security Checks
In addition to the above steps, there are other options to help you block spam calls and texts. These include:
You can customize your DND settings by selecting the category of calls you want to block. Categories include real estate, banking, education, health, and tourism, among others.
You can also opt for the full block option. Even with this, you can still receive payment-related texts and calls, such as those from government agencies and other service providers.
By following the steps mentioned above, you can completely block spam calls. Please note that you will still receive important messages and updates from brands, including OTPs. However, some calls may be partially blocked if they are identified as fake advertisement calls.
