Apple has introduced an affordable Apple Pencil. The newest in the Apple Pencil lineup comes with a sliding cap that unveils a USB-C port. It means that the new Apple Pencil with USB-C support will work with all the iPads that have a USB-C port.
Apple notes that it is “perfect for everyday productivity and creativity, including note taking, sketching, annotating, journaling, and more.”
Therefore, it will work well with these iPad models: iPad 10th Gen, iPad Air (4th and 5th Gen), iPad Pro 11” (1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Gen), iPad Pro 12.9” (3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th Gen), and iPad Mini (6th Gen).
Apple Pencil with USB-C: Price, availability
The latest “affordable” Apple Pencil with USB-C support will be available to purchase for Rs 7,900, starting early November. There’s also a discount for students and their parents, faculty, staff, and home-school teachers. The education pricing brings the price to Rs 6,900 for the eligible buyers.
The catch is…
- It doesn’t have all the features of the 2nd-gen Apple Pencil. The new Apple Pencil lacks some of the more advanced features of the 2nd-gen model, such as double-tapping to switch tools, gesture control, and wireless charging.
- It’s not compatible with all iPads. The new Apple Pencil is only compatible with iPads that have a USB-C port, so if you have an older iPad, you’ll need to buy a USB-C adapter.
- It’s still not that affordable. While the new Apple Pencil is more affordable than the second-generation model, it’s still a bit pricey for a stylus.
But..
- It is still a great option to consider especially if you’re on a hunt for Apple Pencil and if you have an iPad with USB-C port, or else you can get a USB-C adapter.
