If you are looking for a pair of affordable new TWS earbuds focused on audio quality, the Sony WF-C710N is one of the newest offerings in the market, competing for your attention. Similar to its successor, the 2025 variant packs all essentials like active noise cancellation (ANC), customisable audio profiles, Bluetooth multipoint pairing, and a trendy transparent design. With a price tag of Rs 8,990, the WF-C710N makes itself quite compelling for daily commuters, casual listeners, and budget-conscious music lovers.
But should you buy it? As more tech brands like Nothing, Realme, OnePlus and Samsung continue to offer feature-rich audio experiences with their TWS earbuds, does Sony’s mid-range effort pack enough to make it worth spending on it? Let’s find out.
Design

Sony continues to stay away from the typical ‘AirPods’ stem design with the WF-C710N’s compact, pill-shaped build. Weighing just 5.2g per earbud and a total of 38g with the case, the earbuds offer a snug, lightweight feel — though the lack of stabilising fins means they may not suit rigorous workouts – they can easily fall off in case of vigorous movements.
The earbuds come in Glass Blue, Black, White, and Pink finishes. The Blue variant, which we received, is eye-catching thanks to its semi-translucent shell that subtly reveals the internal hardware — a nod to Nothing’s semi-transparent design theme. The case is sleek and pocket-friendly, although I am not sure about the build quality of the plastic used – it picks up scratches and smudges a lot. The earbuds are IPX4-rated for splash resistance, making them suitable for withstanding sweat and rain during commutes and light workouts.
Audio performance
In a typical Sony fashion, the WF-C710N impresses with clean, balanced audio. Sony’s tuning favours clear mids and vocals, making them excellent for podcasts, acoustic tracks, and calls. Although Bass is present, it isn’t as deep as Sony’s flagship offering – it does enough to make you happy. The highs are sharp without being harsh. For those who want a different sound profile, the Sony Sound Connect app offers a 5-band equaliser and a few presets to tweak the tuning.

Another highlight is the Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) system. These earbuds do a remarkable job at cutting out low-frequency rumble (like traffic and office ambience noise), performing at levels comparable to earbuds twice the price. Ambient Sound mode is also included and performs adequately, though it isn’t the most natural-sounding.
The lack of high-resolution codec support like LDAC is a small letdown, particularly for Android users who love a high-spec codec. The WF-C710N supports only AAC and SBC. Hence, this might not be the most suitable choice for audiophiles wanting to listen to lossless codecs.
Features
The Sony Sound Connect app provides essential tools like ANC/Ambient toggles, EQ controls, and Adaptive Sound based on location and activity. The app is clean and functional, though not all features are deeply customisable. For example, touch controls are limited to preset functions, and you can’t fully remap every gesture. You can also use the app to download firmware updates.
A major bonus is Bluetooth multipoint support, allowing users to connect to two devices simultaneously. Hence, you can keep the earbuds paired to your phone and a laptop simultaneously. In testing, this worked reliably for smartphones, but performance on gaming consoles or PCs was inconsistent.
Battery and charging
Battery life is one of the strongest selling points of the WF-C710N. Sony claims up to 30 hours with ANC and 40 hours without, and our testing aligns closely. You can expect up to 9 hours of continuous playback per charge with ANC on, and over 30 hours total with the case. A 5-minute quick charge delivers up to 60 minutes of playback. However, you might need to leave it at the sockets for longer duration for a full battery top-up. Sony offers a USB-C port for charging.
Sony WF-C710N verdict:

At Rs 8,990, the Sony WF-C710N strikes an excellent balance between practicality, audio performance, and battery life. The ANC performance is impressive for an offering in its class and when you add the combo of a pleasant sound tuning and a long-lasting battery life, the WF-C710N ends up being the most value-for-money deal for anyone who loves to listen to music. The lack of high-res audio codec support may raise concerns for purists but when you consider the price of Rs 8,990, it doesn’t leave much room for complaints.
On the whole, we recommend the Sony WF-C710N if you’re looking for a dependable pair of true wireless earbuds for music, calls, and travel within Rs 10,000.
