Salesforce has closed more than 1,000 paid deals for “Agentforce,” as reported by Reuters. Notably, Agentforce is its platform for creating virtual representatives powered by artificial intelligence
On December 17 Tuesday, Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff highlighted this new development. Let’s have a detailed look at what this means for you.
A robotic era ahead!
During a company event in San Francisco, Salesforce showcased its plans for improving its services. It showed how businesses could build bots for customer service, recruiting and other specific tasks on its platform and Slack. Please note that Slack is Salesforce’s messaging app. The main aim of the event was to outline that robots and other artificial intelligence (AI) can help in cost cutting and also improve work efficiency. Also, it could reduce the workload of the existing workforce.
After ChatGPT got introduced in 2022, many companies have used AI without deriving any major savings or revenue from it. However, Benioff said that this could be improved. He claimed that “digital labor” has the ability to augment humans and expand the economy. To support this statement he gave the example of his cloud company which is working on AI agents.
The way ahead
Salesforce will start a “robot force partner program” that can connect real-world machines with virtual ones, he told reporters. Looking ahead, Benioff said that digital labour can prove beneficial to every sector. He gave examples of using robots in hotel chains. He said that they could handle back- and front-office work with an army of focused digital assistants. Also robots have the ability to clean guests’ rooms.
Furthermore, the Time magazine and Salesforce co-founder owner said that he had high hopes that President-elect Donald Trump’s administration can engage CEOs on the topic of digital labor. Trump had already appeared on a recent Time cover as the magazine’s “Person of the Year.”
When asked about if he expected to donate to Trump’s inaugural fund as others have done, “I think we just donated the photo. He can use the Time cover at no charge,” Benioff said to the Reuters.
