Reliance Jio and Google AI Pro have entered into a new partnership, and as expected, the Jio userbase benefits in the form of a mega AI gift. As part of the deal, Jio is offering eligible users a complimentary access to Google’s premium Gemini Pro AI suite for a period of 18 months, with benefits weighing up to Rs 35,100. The offer is now being rolled out for free to eligible new users.
The idea behind this deal is to extend the benefits of Google AI Pro to students, young professionals, and creators who might find the standard subscription costs too high. The free deal is similar to what you get from the Airtel-Perplexity deal. The free access to ChatGPT Go for an entire year is also considered a tempting alternative to deals like this.
Jio-Gemini Pro deal: Who is eligible and what’s included?
As part of the offer, Jio users get 18 months of free access to Google’s top-tier Gemini Pro plan for customers subscribed to Jio’s unlimited 5G plans, priced at Rs 349 or higher.
Note that the Gemini Pro plan is a bundle of advanced AI tools and storage, including:
Gemini 2.5 Pro model: Provides enhanced reasoning, creativity, and conversational capabilities.
Nano Banana: Allows for efficient AI tasks to be run directly on the user’s device.
Veo 3.1: Google’s next-generation model for advanced video generation.
Google One Cloud storage: Includes 2TB of cloud storage for data, media, and Google apps.
Jio-Gemini Pro deal: How to access the free Gemini Pro plan
Jio is initiating the rollout in stages, starting with users aged 18 to 25 years on the eligible unlimited 5G plans. Users can check their eligibility and activate the offer through the MyJio app.
– Open the MyJio app on your mobile device.
– Look for a banner on the home screen that reads “Google Gemini” or “Pro plan of Google Gemini already active on your number.”
– Tap on “Know more” or “Claim now.”
– Sign in using your Gmail ID to seamlessly activate the Gemini Pro features. You will receive notifications through both Jio and Google One platforms confirming the complimentary access.
– Subscribers can verify the activation through the Google One app, where it will appear as a managed plan under Jio. Note that Jio has clarified that the free access is active only when maintaining an active unlimited 5G plan. Any plan downgrade, expiry, or number porting will automatically revoke the benefit.
