The Realme 12 Plus 5G has officially broken cover in Indonesia and Malaysia ahead of its big India debut on March 6 where it will be joined by the Realme 12 5G. Both smartphones are available to pre-order in India starting from today, though full specs of the Realme 12 Plus are only known at the time of writing.
The Realme 12 Plus, as you can probably tell by the name, will be a watered down take on the Realme 12 Pro series devices. A good thing is that Realme is maintaining design consistency and so, the Realme 12 Plus is also getting a luxurious vegan leather finish (available in a choice of beige and green) on the back with a watch dial-style camera assembly housing a total of three sensors— a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-600 behind an f/1.88 lens 26mm equivalent lens with OIS and 2x in-sensor zoom, 8-megapixel f/2.2 ultrawide, and another 2MP macro.
Flip over to the front and you’ll find a 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with a 1080p resolution and rainwater smart touch (akin to OnePlus’s aqua touch). The hole punch cut-out at the centre houses a 16-megapixel selfie camera. Under the hood, the Realme 12 Plus has a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 processor paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. Running the show is Realme UI 5.0 based on Android 14. The battery is a 5,000mAh and it can charge at up to 67W.
The Realme 12 5G full specs are unknown but Realme has confirmed the phone will come with a 108-megapixel main camera. More details are awaited.
Realme 12 series 5G India pre-orders
Realme has started taking pre-orders for the Realme 12 and Realme 12 Plus in India starting from today through March 5 across Realme online, Flipkart, and mainline stores. The first sale date has also been announced. The Realme 12 series will go on sale on the day of launch itself, i.e. March 6, 2024 from 3PM.
