As iQOO took the wraps off the iQOO 15 flagship, Xiaomi’s POCO officially introduced its new flagship F8 series to the global market today. It unveiled the top-tier POCO F8 Ultra and the slightly more accessible POCO F8 Pro. These phones not only mark a significant leap for the brand by offering the next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, but also feature a first-ever audio collaboration with US-based audio giant Bose.
The POCO F8 Ultra is positioned as the true performance flagship, utilising the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 3nm chipset, complemented by a VisionBoost D8 companion chip for advanced AI and visual processing. While the global launch event revealed it for the rest of the world, an official India debut is expected to follow in early 2026.
POCO F8 Ultra: All specifications at a glance
The F8 Ultra is built around powerful specifications designed solely for power users and gamers.
– It features the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. The hardware combo runs on Xiaomi HyperOS 3 based on Android 16, with POCO promising four generations of OS updates.
– The viewing experience is handled by a large 6.9-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, supporting HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, and boasting an incredible peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits.
– Both phones feature Bose-tuned stereo speakers, with the Ultra variant further enhancing the experience with a dedicated rear speaker for a 2.1 channel audio setup.
– The camera setup on the F8 Ultra is comprehensive, featuring three high-resolution lenses on the rear – a 50MP primary sensor with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), a 50MP periscope telephoto lens offering a sharp 5x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide sensor. For selfies and video calls, the Ultra is equipped with a 32MP front camera.
– Powering the device is a huge 6,500mAh battery, which supports blazing-fast 100W wired HyperCharge and also includes 50W wireless charging support.
POCO F8 Pro specifications at a glance
The POCO F8 Pro serves as the entry point to the series, relying on the previous-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and a slightly smaller 6,210mAh battery with 100W wired charging. Its camera setup includes a 50MP main lens, a 50MP 2.5x telephoto, and an 8MP ultrawide.
Globally, the POCO F8 Ultra starts at $729 (approx. Rs 65,100) for the 12GB+256GB base model, while the F8 Pro begins at $579 (approx. Rs 51,700).
POCO has not confirmed the Indian pricing or exact release date.
