OpenAI celebrates day 3 of its ‘Shipmass,’ by introducing its much awaited Sora Turbo. Sora Turbo is the upgraded version of Sora, which is OpenAI’s text-to-video artificial intelligence (AI) model. Sora was initially previewed in February. Let’s have a look at what the new AI tool has in store for you.
Introducing Sora
In an X (earlier Twitter) post, Sam Altman announced that Open AI will be launching Sora. He further added that OpenAI plus and pro users can use the upgraded version of the AI tool. Also, the tool might take some time to roll out. However,by the end of the day the tool should be available at Sora.com.
So, what new features and updates can you expect from the upgraded Sora? According to an official blog, OpenAI has developed new interfaces which are easy to use. Now it will be easier for you to prompt Sora Turbo with images, text and videos. In addition to this you will also be able to generate videos up to 1080p resolution and along with a maximum duration of 20 seconds.
The new Sora has also brought a new ‘remix’ feature. This feature will allow you to remove, replace or re-create any elements in your clips. For example, if you want to add any extra element , you can add that in your video.
Other key features
In addition to the above mentioned feature, you also get the ‘Re-cut’, ‘Loop.’ and the ‘Storyboard,’ features. The ‘Re-cut’ option allows you to find and isolate the best frames. Additionally, you can also extend them in either direction to complete a scene.
Next you have the ‘Storyboard’ feature. With this you can arrange and edit unique sequences from your videos on a personal timeline. The ‘Loop’ feature helps you to trim down and create clips which can repeat seamlessly. Just similar to GIFs.
Looking ahead, to get access to the upgraded version, users need to subscribe to ChatGPT’s Plus and Pro account. Please note that OpenAI Plus is priced at $20 (approx. ₹1,700) a month. The Pro version comes at a monthly cost of $200 (approx. ₹17,000). You get the AI tool included in both of these plans with no additional charge.
