Flipkart has jumped the gun and let Nothing’s upcoming smartphone, the Nothing Phone 3a, slip past its guardrails, to give us information that—at best—can be called privy to the brand at least at this point. The Nothing Phone 3a is coming to global markets, including India on March 4, 2025.
Nothing announced just yesterday that its next product—which is unspecified—will launch on March 4, on the sidelines of the Mobile World Congress (MWC). The name of the product was not revealed with the brand asking people to stay tuned for official communication through Nothing website and Flipkart channels for more details. The Flipkart link for the launch mentions the name of the product clearly as the Phone 3a in the URL, confirming what was already being speculated.
Though many would have expected Nothing to kick the new year off with the Nothing Phone 3, rumour mills have been buzzing with news about other launches before that happens. In fact, speculation is rife that Nothing has three devices planned before the Phone 3 breaks cover. One of these devices—as it is confirmed now—is the Phone 3a, which given Nothing’s track record, would be an affordable mid-ranger sequel to the Phone 2a. The Phone 2a also had a plus variant called Nothing Phone 2a Plus. Whether the Phone 3a also has a Phone 3a Plus model remains to be seen.
Anyhow, teasers shared by the brand ahead of launch suggest the Phone 3a is set to have three cameras, one of them may use a telephoto (zoom) lens, marking the first time Nothing goes that way. Power in perspective is the tagline for the launch meaning the choice of processor could be another big USP. With Nothing formally announcing a launch date, more details should start to trickle down, soon enough.
