Motorola today launched the Razr 50 in India. It is—for all intents and purposes—a more affordable Razr 50 Ultra designed to bring the foldable flip phone experience to more people. Unlike with the Razr 40 series, Motorola chose to launch the two—50 and 50 Ultra—separately.

What’s remarkable about the Razr 50 is that Motorola has cherry-picked one of the most sought-after features from the Razr 40 Ultra—aka the large 3.6-inch cover screen—and made it more accessible. That is in fact, a key USP of the Razr 50. The Razr 50 Ultra still takes the crown with its massive 4 incher, but the Razr 50 isn’t too far off.

Moto Razr 50: India price, availability

Motorola has launched the Razr 50 in sole 8GB/256GB configuration and three colours— Sand Beach, Spritz Orange, and Koala Gray—at a price of Rs 64,999. It will be available across Motorola online, Amazon, Reliance Digital stores and leading retail outlets starting September 20 (pre-orders kickoff from September 10). For a limited run, Motorola will offer a Rs 5,000 flat festive discount on the phone.

Moto Razr 50: Full specs, top features, and more

The Razr 50 uses a combination of silicone polymer for the lower back back, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus for the cover display, and stainless steel around the hinge. The outer frame on the other hand is made of 6000 series aluminum. The phone is IPX8 certified which makes it resistant to water at a depth of up to 1.5m for 30 minutes.

The primary display on the Razr 50 is a 6.9-inch FHD foldable LTPO AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel can peak 3,000 nits and supports HDR10+ playback. The 3.6-inch cover display is 1056 x 1066 pixels AMOLED with a 90Hz refresh rate and up to 1,700 nits of peak brightness. It supports HDR10+ as well.
