Lenovo brand Moto is seemingly planning to take on Apple’s iPhone X with its next-generation smartphone. The company is reported to be working on its new device that will be called the Moto X5. The Moto X5 is expected to sport an iPhone X-like notch on the top featuring an all-screen display and dual selfie cameras alongside. It’s not just this, Moto has been reported to introduce not less than three new models under its Z and G series. Moto Z3, Moto Z3 Play, Moto G6, Moto G6 Plus, and Moto G6 Play are allegedly in the works. In addition, Moto is also said to launch its first 5G Moto Mod especially designed for the upcoming Z series. All of these are expected to be launched at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 in February.

Moto X5 Specifications and Features

Starting with the Moto X5, which is the different from all, the premium segment smartphone has been leaked in full-colour marketing render that reveals its design. Droidlife reports that the Moto X5 will bear a notch on the top, which is identical to the one in iPhone X. The notch comprises of two cameras, one on either side of the earpiece. The smartphone is expected to ditch the fingerprint sensor and could go for the newest unlock methods. According to the report, the Moto X5 could feature an in-display fingerprint sensor, just like the recently-unveiled Vivo smartphone (X20 Plus UD?). It has also been reported that the  Moto X5 could deploy its camera duo to feature the face unlock technology, as has been the latest trend.

The Moto X5 can be seen sporting full-screen display, which is claimed to be ‘borderless’. According to the report, the smartphone will pack a 5.9-inch full-HD (1080×2160 pixels) display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The image render also shows the Moto X5 to have an all-white software button at the bottom of the display. The bottom of the smartphone also reveals an interesting cue that the ‘Moto’ brand name has now been changed back to ‘Motorola’. The Moto X5 is also touted to feature Moto XP’s Smart AI technology, the utility of which is unclear at the moment.

Moto Z3, Moto Z3 Play Specifications and Features

Moving to the next set of smartphones that have leaked in abundance, the Moto Z3 could also be launched by Moto. As per a report by Droidlife, the Moto Z3 family will be the successor to the Moto Z2 smartphones. The Moto Z3 and Moto Z3 Play are reported to pack 6-inch full-HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) displays with a 2.5D curved glass, which again is claimed to be ‘borderless’. The display is said to feature the white button, similar to the one on Moto X5. The report further suggests that Moto could be planning to add one more top-end smartphone to its Z3 range. The name of the smartphone is, however, unclear as of now but it could be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC.

5G Moto Mod Features

The company is also working on a new 5G Moto Mod, a first for the company. The 5G Moto Mod will enable the new Moto Z3 range with 5G connectivity. Moto had announced back in December that it would build a Moto Mod that would bring 5G Internet capabilities on its smartphone. However, this is just a rumoured leak and readers are advised to take it with a grain of salt.

Moto G6, Moto G6 Plus, and Moto G6 Play Specifications and Features

The next couple of leaked images point towards the rumoured launch of new entrants to Moto G smartphone series. According to the Droidlife’s report, the Moto G6 along with its siblings Moto G6 Plus and Moto G6 Play could be launched at MWC 2018. The highlight of the smartphones is the 3D glass back, unlike the metal finish on the Moto G5 models. The Moto G6 is said to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC coupled with either 3GB RAM/ 32GB or 4GB/ 64GB configuration. There will be dual cameras with 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel resolution on the rear side while the front side will sport a 16-megapixel camera. The camera islands are said to be similar to what we saw on Moto X4 devices. There is a 3000mAh battery expected in the Moto G6.

The Moto G6 will reportedly cost $240 and will be launched in black, silver-ish, and rose gold (pink gold) colours. The Moto G6 Plus is said to be priced at $330 in the colours – Deep Indigo (Black), Nimbus (Silver), and Dark Lake (Dark Teal) (Source: Droidlife)

The Moto G6 Plus, on the other hand, will be the larger variant with a 5.93-inch 18:9 full-HD+ display but with same resolution as on the Moto G6. The smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor. The RAM/ storage models of this version will be similar to the Moto G6, however, a top model with 6GB of RAM can also be expected. The Moto G6 Plus will have a 3200mAh battery under the hood. Another variant, the Moto G6 Play will have the biggest of them all. While all the other specifications are said to be identical to Moto G6, the Moto G6 Play will pack a huge 4000mAh battery. Another feature that will be seen dissimilar from rest of the members is the placement of fingerprint sensor. The Moto G6 Play will have a fingerprint sensor on the rear side, but the Moto G6 and Moto G6 Plus will have the fingerprint sensor mounted at the front.

The prices and colour models of the Moto G6 family have also been leaked. The Moto G6 will reportedly cost $240 and will be launched in black, silver-ish, and rose gold (pink gold) colours. The Moto G6 Plus is said to be priced at $330 in the colours – Deep Indigo (Black), Nimbus (Silver), and Dark Lake (Dark Teal). The Moto G6 Play, on the other hand, is expected in Dark Charcoal, Gold, and Deep Blue colours, however, its price is not known yet.

While the expected launch date of all the Moto devices – Moto X5, Moto Z3, Moto Z3 Play, Moto G6, Moto G6 Plus, Moto G6 Play, and 5G Moto Mod – is during the Mobile World Congress 2018, these dates are not official yet.
