Microsoft is expected to unveil at least three new Surface devices and AI-powered features for Windows, Office, Surface, Bing, etc. at a “special event” in New York City tomorrow.
Microsoft Surface Event: Date, Time
This will mark Microsoft’s first in-person Surface event since the pandemic. Panos Panay who recently resigned from the position of the company’s Surface and Windows head will likely miss the event. Yusuf Mehdi will take charge. It kicks off on Sept. 21 at 7 AM PT, 7:30 PM IST in New York City.

Microsoft will likely not be live-streaming the Surface launch event—dubbed “special event”—this year, noted The Verge. However, those interested in watching may tune into Microsoft’s YouTube channel at 10:30 PM IST. It will also be available on Microsoft’s website.

AI and Windows may make the latter a beast, yet again
In addition to hardware launches, Microsoft will also be introducing some minor and major tweaks to its software for smooth flow. It may start with third-party plugin support in Bing Chat and AI integration into Windows 11. This corroborates with previous news such as Microsoft’s discontinuation of Cortana, and welcoming Copilot.
Other than that, one rumour says that Bing Chat would become ChatGPT’s default search experience. If this rumour comes true, the chatbot could become so much more powerful by accessing the web.
