As Microsoft Build 2024, a major event for the Redmond-based tech giant, announced a number of new features on Tuesday, here’s a recap till now!

This year Microsoft Build came with the tagline of ‘shaping lives with AI,’ focusing its aim on incorporating AI on a larger number of their products. The announcement  included updates about its AI chatbot Copilot, new Microsoft Teams tools, and much more.

Microsoft Build 2024: The Highlights !

During the event Microsoft introduced a new category of Windows PCs called Copilot+ PCs. This plans to transform the OS to enable the acceleration of AI development. Microsoft also introduced the Snapdragon Dev Kit for Windows.

Microsoft introduced Fabric Real-Time Intelligence that combines the best of Synapse Real-Time Analytics and Data Activator along with an array of additional new features.

Now, users can customize GitHub Copilot with capabilities from first- and third-party services like Docker, Sentry, and many more. The new extension can allow you to instantly deploy to Azure using just natural language.

A pair of new Azure virtual machines are designed to boost performance. The Azure Cobalt virtual machine is built on Microsoft custom silicon, delivering efficiency and choice to Azure users and enhancing first-party applications like Microsoft Teams.

Microsoft Team Copilot will be upgraded to serve and act on behalf of a team, department, or an entire company, with group capabilities – not just an individual user.

With Copilot Studio, Microsoft will allow developers to build copilots with agent capabilities. These copilots can manage multiple workflows and complete tasks independently within defined guardrails, transforming the future of organizational and process efficiency.

“We built the Copilot stack so that you can build your AI applications and solutions and experiences. And just yesterday we introduced a new category of Copilot+ PCs, the fastest AI-first PCs ever built,” Satya Nadella, Chairman and CEO, Microsoft, explained.

“ We’ve done a huge amount of work over the past year on the Copilot stack. It is both optimizing a bunch of systems, so things are getting cheaper and more capable, and it’s also building that whole cloud of capabilities and systems, services and tools around the core AI platforms,” Kevin Scott, CTO, Microsoft, concluded.
