On November 19, Kim Kardashian shared a video on X (earlier known as Twitter). The video showcased a video with Tesla’s humanoid robot, Optimus. Let’s have a detailed look at what made the internet go crazy.
Meet Kim’s new friend
In a series of Instagram stories, Kim Kardashian showcased playing and interacting with Optimus. One video showed Kim playing ‘rock paper scissor’ with Optimus. Kim said ‘rock paper scissors’ to Optimus. In response it raised its arm to counter her. However, the robot was a bit slow. Seeing this Kim teased her. Getting teased, Optimus raised its hand, showing some humor in exchange for Kim’s comment. Some have interpreted this as a sign of frustration.
Another video showed Kim making a heart shape with her asking Optimus, ‘Can you do this?’ To her surprise the robot mimicked her and created a heart with its hand. Seeing the robot’s reaction, Kim was surprised. She replied, “You know how to do that!”. The video also showcased Optimus dancing and doing some human-like dance steps.

In response to the video, many netizens reacted and wrote comments on the post. One user, Nic Cruz Patane, praised the capability of Tesla saying that the company knows how to make great products. Another user named Barbara highlighted that this is why Tesla does not need a separate marketing team. Also, Tesla’s Ashok Elluswamy, director of Autopilot Software,added a comment, saying that it looks like that robot’s not coming back. Furthermore, “Sorry you had to find out this way,” was added from the official account of Tesla Optimus. Moreover, with the human-like behavior of Optimus, it has become an internet sensation overnight. Looks like Optimus is gaining a huge fan following!
In addition to showing Optimus, Kim also shared a video of Tesla’s futuristic autonomous Cybercab. Notably, Cybercab is Tesla’s autonomous car with no pedals. Furthermore, Optimus reportedly can cost between $20,000 and $30,000.
