Google made a splash at its annual Made by Google event, introducing a range of new products for its fans. The tech giant unveiled the highly anticipated Pixel 9 series, including the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL. These smartphones come with significant upgrades in camera capabilities, performance, and design. Additionally, Google introduced the Pixel Fold, marking its debut in the foldable smartphone market in India.

In the wearables category, Google launched the Pixel Watch 3, building upon the success of its predecessor with improved features and functionalities. The company also introduced the Pixel Buds Pro 2, with enhanced audio quality and noise cancellation.

Google Pixel 9 series: The Pixel 9 series has officially launched with three phones in the series, first time ever- Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro and Pro XL. The pre-orders for Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro XL will start from August 14 through major retailers like Flipkart, Reliance Digital, and Croma.

The Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL offer a range of features tailored to different needs and preferences. The Pixel 9 comes with a 6.3-inch Actua OLED display, featuring a resolution of 1080 x 2424 pixels and a smooth refresh rate between 60 to 120 Hz. It houses a dual rear camera system with a 50 MP wide lens and a 48 MP ultrawide lens, along with advanced computational photography features like Super Res Zoom up to 8x. It offers 12 GB of RAM and storage options ranging from 128 GB to 256 GB, with a 4700 mAh battery that supports fast charging up to 55% in about 30 minutes. The Pixel 9 Pro steps up with a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED display, offering a higher resolution of 1280 x 2856 pixels and a smoother refresh rate of 1 to 120 Hz. Its camera system includes a 50 MP wide lens, a 48 MP ultrawide lens, and a 48 MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom and Super Res Zoom up to 30x. It features 16 GB of RAM and storage options ranging from 128 GB to 1 TB. The battery capacity matches the Pixel 9’s 4700 mAh but benefits from similar fast charging capabilities.

The Pixel 9 Pro XL features a larger 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 1344 x 2992 pixels and a 1 to 120 Hz refresh rate. Its camera system mirrors the Pro’s, with the addition of advanced video features including 8K recording at 30 FPS. The XL variant boasts a larger 5060 mAh battery with faster charging up to 70% in 30 minutes. All models include Google’s Titan M2 security chip, support Google VPN at no extra cost, and are built with environmentally friendly materials, including recycled aluminum and plastic-free packaging. Each model runs on Android 14, offers 7 years of OS and security updates, and includes comprehensive safety features like Satellite SOS and Car Crash Detection.

Pixel 9 Pro Fold: The Pixel 9 Pro Fold features a 6.3-inch Actua OLED external display with a 1080 x 2424 resolution, a 60-120 Hz refresh rate, and up to 2700 nits peak brightness, while the internal 8-inch Super Actua Flex OLED screen boasts a 2076 x 2152 resolution, a 1-120 Hz refresh rate, and up to 2700 nits peak brightness. When folded, it measures 155.2 x 77.1 x 10.5 mm and weighs 257 grams, while unfolded, it measures 155.2 x 150.2 x 5.1 mm. It is powered by a 4650 mAh battery, supports fast and wireless charging, and is equipped with 16 GB of RAM and storage options of 256 GB or 512 GB, depending on the region. The device runs on Google’s Tensor G4 processor with Titan M2 security coprocessor and includes Google VPN. The rear camera system features a 48 MP wide, 10.5 MP ultrawide, and 10.8 MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom and up to 20x Super Res Zoom. Front cameras consist of dual 10 MP sensors for both external and internal use. The phone also offers IPX8 water resistance, is made with recycled materials, and includes stereo speakers, USB Type-C connectivity, and 5G support. It runs on Android 14 with 7 years of updates and comes with safety features like Emergency SOS and Car Crash Detection. The device is available in Obsidian and Porcelain colors and includes accessibility features such as Live Caption, TalkBack, and Sound Amplifier.

Pixel Watch 3: The Google Pixel Watch 3 features Actua AMOLED display available in two sizes, 41 mm and 45 mm, with up to 2000 nits of brightness and a refresh rate of 1-60 Hz. It includes advanced health and fitness tracking capabilities such as heart rate monitoring, ECG, blood oxygen measurement, sleep tracking, and readiness and cardio load tracking, all integrated with Fitbit Premium for personalised insights and recommendations. The watch offers up to 24 hours of battery life with the always-on display or up to 36 hours in Battery Saver mode, and supports fast charging. It is equipped with Google’s ecosystem integration, including offline Google Maps, Google TV remote control, and Pixel phone camera access. The Pixel Watch 3 also boasts a durable design with 100% recycled aluminium, water resistance up to 50 meters, and a range of customisable bands and colours.

Pixel Buds Pro 2: The Pixel Buds Pro 2 is designed incorporating insights from 45 million ear scans and featuring a twist-to-adjust stabilizer. It is equipped with Google’s first Tensor A1 chip and supports Active Noise Cancellation via Silent Seal 2.0. It cancels twice as much noise as its predecessor. The earbuds boast large 11 mm drivers for enhanced bass and clear treble, along with upgraded Clear Calling that minimizes background noise. Features include automatic Conversation Detection, precise location tracking through the Find My Device network, and seamless audio switching between devices.
