Apple’s 14-inch MacBook Pro M3 smells fresh in the Cupertino garden, joined by its M3 siblings and M2 MacBook Air Models. With M3 finally launched and Tim Cook greeting, “Good evening…” for a change, the users find themselves confused whether getting the brand-new 14” MacBook Pro equipped with an M3 chip built on a 3nm process makes sense or the 15” MacBook Air with erstwhile launch M2 would be the right purchase.

15-inch MacBook Air M2 vs 14-inch Apple MacBook Pro M3: Display
15-inch MacBook Air M2, as the name says, hosts a 15.3-inch Liquid Retina display with 2880×1864 pixels resolution and peak brightness upto 500nits. Meanwhile, the 14-inch MacBook Pro M3 gets a 14.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display with 3024×1964 pixels resolution. The peak brightness on the latest M3-powered MacBook Pro goes up to 1,600nits and also has ProMotion technology for an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate.

15-inch MacBook Air M2 vs 14-inch Apple MacBook Pro M3: Processor
15-inch MacBook Air M2 comes with the previously released M2 processor. Meanwhile, the 14-inch MacBook Pro M3 comes equipped with the latest M3 processor. The key difference could be the technology these two chips are built on; the M3 is built on a 3nm process, whereas, the M2 is built on a 5nm process.
Both the M2 and M3 have 8 CPU cores but the M3’s cores are expected to be faster and more power-efficient. Both offer up to 24GB of unified memory. Apple’s comparison on its website tells that the new MacBook Pro promises up to 4 more hours of battery life than the 15-inch MacBook Air M2.
15-inch MacBook Air M2 vs 14-inch Apple MacBook Pro M3: Storage Options
15-inch MacBook Air M2 comes in four storage options including a 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB variant. 14-inch MacBook Pro M3, in comparison, brings three storage variants to the table: 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB.

15-inch MacBook Air M2 vs 14-inch Apple MacBook Pro M3: Price
15-inch MacBook Air M2 starts at Rs 1,39,900 for the base 256GB variant. Meanwhile, the 14-inch MacBook Pro M3 starts at Rs 1,69,900. There’s a huge difference here. A price difference that can buy you an AirPods Pro 2nd Gen and then, too, you will be left with around Rs 5,000.
15-inch MacBook Air M2 vs 14-inch Apple MacBook Pro M3: Colour Options
The 15-inch MacBook Air M2 comes in Starlight, Midnight, Silver and Space Gray. Meanwhile, the 14-inch MacBook Pro M3 comes in two colours: Space Gray and Silver. There’s a black space option but it is exclusive to models equipped with flagship SoCs.
