While LG launched the successor to last year’s V20 – the LG V30S ThinQ – ahead of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018, its flagship device is due to launch sometime late this year. LG apparently won’t continue with its G series and go for a new name going forth for all its flagship devices. Recently, Evan Blass tipped that LG could be working on its flagship device dubbed ‘Judy’. Now, a new leak has surfaced online that could be our very first look at LG’s next flagship smartphone.
LG’s next-generation flagship smartphone, aka Judy, has purportedly leaked in images obtained by YnetNews at the company’s booth in the ongoing Mobile World Congress (MWC) convention. In addition to the images, the leak also reveals the specifications of the device that include a 6-inch OLED 19.5:9 display having a resolution of 1440×3120 pixels and 900ppi density. The display aspect ratio is similar to what Asus ZenFone 5Z bears on its display. The leak also suggests that LG could be looking to ape iPhone X-like ‘notch’ at the top. The top ‘notch’ on the phone carries an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera along with other sensors. On the rear, the phone is expected to have a dual camera setup of 16-megapixel sensors each.
The report further tells that the LG Judy could be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC paired with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of onboard storage. LG may keep itself away from pulling an LG G6 this time, as the last time the company shipped its G6 flagship with an older Snapdragon 821 SoC, while other mobile companies packed the Snapdragon 835 in their flagship devices. It is also speculated that LG’s flagship device could bear a 3000mAh battery under the hood. It has already been reported that LG will focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) features on the next flagship, so it is expected that LG Judy will have AI-enabled features, along with voice-based operation.
