The post involves xAI’s AI assistant Grok helping Elon describe an image of what seems to be a photo of Lord Ganesha. In the shared conversation, Grok revealed all crucial details on the Hindu God.
Musk’s post included a link to a conversation he had with Grok, wherein Musk provided the AI bot with an image of a traditional South Indian brass statue and simply asked the chatbot, “What is this?” Grok responded with a great amount of detail and accuracy, demonstrating its deep image recognition and knowledge synthesis capabilities.
“This is a small brass (or bronze) statue of Lord Ganesha, a widely revered Hindu deity,” the chatbot responded, providing a detailed breakdown of the figure.

Grok correctly identified the “key identifying features” of the deity, including the elephant head, four hands, seated posture, and the mouse at the feet, to confirm the figure’s identity. The post immediately garnered thousands of reactions, especially from users in India who celebrated the recognition of a major Hindu deity by one of the world’s most prominent tech figures and his AI.
One X user captured the collective sentiment, stating, “It’s kind of surreal to see Lord Ganesha appear inside Grok. One represents divine knowledge, the other human-made intelligence, both seeking clarity in chaos.” Another user, Sanchi Arora, commented, “It’s great to see Elon and Grok recognising Lord Ganesha, wisdom meets technology, what a blend!”
