The iPhone 17 lineup is scheduled to be unveiled in September. In the lead-up to the official launch, a steady stream of leaks has provided insights into various models across the range. The latest revelation focuses specifically on the Pro variant, offering fresh details ahead of its debut. A new leak suggests that the iPhone 17 Pro could launch with a redesigned Telephoto lens offering up to 8× optical zoom—an upgrade from the 5× zoom available on the iPhone 16 Pro. This advanced lens is reportedly capable of physically adjusting its position, enabling smooth optical zoom across various focal lengths instead of sticking to preset zoom levels.
Additionally, Apple is said to be developing a completely revamped pro camera application aimed at serious photographers and videographers.
This new app is expected to compete with top-tier third-party software like Halide, Kino, and Filmic Pro. That said, the source also mentioned the possibility that Apple might opt to deliver a major overhaul of its current Final Cut Camera app instead.
Another notable change could be the inclusion of a second Camera Control button. Positioned along the top edge of the iPhone 17 Pro, this new button would work alongside the existing one located on the lower right side of the iPhone 16 series, offering even faster access to camera functions and settings.
iPhone 17 Pro design:
Apple is reportedly planning to ditch the titanium frame used in its recent models in favor of a lightweight aluminum build for the iPhone 17 Pro series. The upcoming Pro models are expected to feature a hybrid rear panel that fuses aluminum with glass, instead of going with an entirely glass back. This revamped design may enhance durability in the upper section, while the lower glass area will continue to support wireless charging. Earlier leaks pointed to a two-tone look with a standout camera block, but according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the camera setup will likely match the overall device color—much like the seamless design seen on the iPhone 16 series.
iPhone 17 Pro Price:
The forthcoming iPhone 17 series is anticipated to come with a steeper price compared to earlier models. In India, the base variant of the iPhone 17 is likely to launch at roughly ₹89,900, while in the U.S., it could be priced starting around $899. In regions like Dubai, the same entry-level model may be available for about AED 3,799. On the premium end, the flagship iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to exceed $2,300 in certain international markets, mainly due to import fees and regional taxes.
