If Apple maintains its traditional launch pattern, the iPhone 17 lineup might be officially unveiled on September 8, with retail availability beginning Friday, September 19. Over the years, Apple has followed a fairly predictable rollout cadence for its flagship devices. Although the exact date of the keynote may shift slightly—typically landing on a Monday or Tuesday—pre-orders are almost always opened that same week on Friday, with deliveries and in-store sales starting the following Friday.
iPhone 17 Pro Design:
Prominent leaker Majin Bu has shared alleged hands-on photos of what seems to be a prototype model of the iPhone 17 Pro on X. While the device shown is a non-functional dummy without internal hardware, its dimensions and aesthetics are believed to reflect the final version.
Notably, the rear of the phone showcases a major design overhaul, with a prominent camera module stretching across the full width of the back. This bold “visor-like” camera arrangement is a first for Apple, though it echoes design trends previously adopted by other smartphone makers.
One striking change is the repositioned Apple logo. Rather than being centered on the rear panel as in previous models, the logo now appears lower down—situated roughly midway between the base of the device and the newly designed camera strip.
iPhone 17 Pro Performance:
The iPhone 17 Air, along with the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, is expected to be equipped with 12GB of RAM, while the standard iPhone 17 may continue to offer 8GB—mirroring the configuration of its predecessor. Noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has also pointed to these potential upgrades, though he mentioned possible challenges tied to RAM component availability. Meanwhile, the Pro variants in the lineup are anticipated to debut with Apple’s next-gen A19 Pro chip, which is set to deliver improved performance and energy efficiency.
iPhone 17 Pro Camera:
In a research note from August 2024, analyst Jeff Pu projected that all four models in the iPhone 17 lineup would receive a major front camera upgrade, jumping to a 24MP sensor—doubling the resolution of the 12MP selfie camera found on the iPhone 16 series.
