Only a few weeks remain until Apple unveils its newest iPhones, and speculation is running high with fresh leaks and reports hinting at what the four upcoming flagship models might bring. Apple is anticipated to introduce the iPhone 17 lineup with four distinct models. The range is likely to feature the standard iPhone 17, a thinner and more lightweight iPhone 17 Air, as well as the high-end iPhone 17 Pro and the flagship iPhone 17 Pro Max.
iPhone 17 series Display:
The smartphones of the series will be equipped with different screen sizes like the 6.9-inch for the Pro Max model and a smaller 6.2-inch for the base iPhone 16, all of them Super Retina XDR OLED display with HDR 10 support. Additionally, the devices could come with 2000 nits of peak brightness in outdoor conditions. Add to it the 120 Hz refresh rate and oleophobic coating that prevents fingerprint smudges. The design of the smartphone could be in for a change, however, it’s very subjective due to some people expecting major design changes.
iPhone 17 series Processor:
Apple is reportedly preparing to introduce the all-new A19 Pro chip, manufactured using TSMC’s advanced 3nm process. In addition to this next-gen processor, the iPhone 17 series is expected to include 12GB of RAM — marking the first time an iPhone will offer such capacity. This increase in memory is aimed at delivering faster performance and ensuring a more fluid, optimized Apple Intelligence experience for users.
iPhone 17 series Cameras:
Apple’s 2025 iPhone lineup is rumored to introduce a significant camera upgrade across all models, with a new 24-megapixel front camera replacing the 12-megapixel selfie lens found in the iPhone 16 series. This enhancement is expected to deliver sharper photos. At the top end, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is tipped to include a trio of 48-megapixel sensors—a Wide, an Ultra Wide, and a Tetraprism Telephoto lens—making it the first iPhone to feature three cameras of this resolution. It will also bring 8K video recording to the iPhone lineup for the first time. On the other hand, the iPhone 17 Air is likely to sport a single 48-megapixel rear camera, while the standard iPhone 17 may offer a dual-lens setup combining a Wide and an Ultra Wide sensor.
iPhone 17 series Price:
Apple is reportedly planning to bump up the base storage across the iPhone 17 lineup to 256GB, doubling it from the current 128GB. If it happens, industry insiders suggest that the starting price could rise by about $50 (roughly Rs 4,400). In that case, the entry-level iPhone 17 might launch at approximately Rs 83,300, compared to the iPhone 16’s Rs 79,900 price point. If these leaks prove accurate, the premium models in the series are also expected to see notable price increases. Meanwhile, the all-new iPhone 17 Air is rumored to be priced around $900 (Rs 78,886), positioning it higher than the standard iPhone 17 but still more affordable than the Pro editions, creating a unique middle ground in the lineup. Since these figures are based on U.S. pricing, estimates suggest the iPhone 17 Air could retail between Rs 90,000 and Rs 1,00,000 in India.
