Apple is gearing up for the launch of the iPhone 17 series which is right around the corner. The launch event, according to insider leaks will be in early September. Apple is anticipated to introduce the iPhone 17 lineup with four distinct models. The range is likely to feature the standard iPhone 17, a thinner and more lightweight iPhone 17 Air, as well as the high-end iPhone 17 Pro and the flagship iPhone 17 Pro Max.
However, just before the launch of the iPhone 17 series launch, the iPhone 16 is available at a good discount on Jio Mart, meanwhile, the iPhone 16 Plus is available at an even better discount on e-commerce platform Flipkart. Both of these smartphones are from Apple’s previous year line-up. However, since there are no major hardware improvements between the two series smartphones, one should definitely buy the iPhone 16.

The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus model remain the most sold units of Apple’s lineup, featuring exclusive upgrades. The Plus model is powered by the more powerful A18 Pro chip, built on TSMC’s latest 4nm process. This smartphone will come with 8GB of RAM for more advanced Apple Intelligence features. The device also has a new, more durable chassis that combines aluminium and glass, replacing the current titanium frame. Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 under the hood has the A18 Bionic chipset.

On the camera front, the iPhone 16 Plus has a dual-lens camera module— a 48MP Primary and 12 MP Ultrawide. Exclusive features for the Plus model include a mechanical aperture for more professional-level depth of field control and support for 4K video recording on the Pro model. On the other hand, iPhone 16 has a similar camera module.
iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus Display
The iPhone 16 has a 60Hz ProMotion display. It is a slightly smaller 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display. In contrast, the iPhone 16 Plus maintains the similar 6.7-inch screen size but with a more advanced variable refresh rate (1-60Hz) OLED panel, thus offering superior power efficiency. Additionally, the oleophobic coating of the display is said to prevent fingerprint smudges.

The iPhone 16 128 GB variant is available for Rs. 74,900, which is a significant reduction from the usual list price of Rs. 79,900. Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 Plus is available at a price of Rs. 84,900 which is also available cheaper than the list price of Rs. 89,900.
