This year Apple bets big with ‘AI’ at the WWDC 2024, with its own Apple Intelligence. Along with Apple Intelligence Apple also brings in its smart calculator. So, what’s in store for you!
Apple defines its new ‘Calculator,’ as a smart calculator that can provide you answers to your problems, just by drawing ‘signs’ such as equal to, plus, minus and more. Coming to its Apple Intelligence, Apple poses it as the ‘personalised AI’ for users.
How smart is Apple’s ‘ Smart Calculator’?
With Apple’s ‘Calculator,’ you will be able to do quick calculations, just by adding signs to your mathematical equations. Apple says that the new calculator will be able to sync with Match Notes, another new feature.
Using Apple’s new Apple intelligence ability to recognise handwriting, you can solve handwritten math problems easily.
Apple also added basic and scientific calculators, enabling you to view the complete calculations before finalizing them. The ‘Calculator’ app also has a ‘history’ feature that allows users to track previous calculations. Another feature, ‘unit’ conversions enable quick conversions of length, weight, currencies, and more.
During the WWDC 2024 event, Apple showcased a live demo of the calculator’s intelligence by effortlessly solving complex equations.
When ‘Calculator’ meets Apple Pencil!
It looks like Apple will come in handy as you use Math Notes. Now you can write complicated equations and get real-time solutions. The Math notes calculator feature also uses graphics to create animated versions of your math equations.
It even supports variables and updates results when you change inputs. All of the Math Notes features will also be supported in the Notes app.
Other ‘Smart’ Updates!
Apple’s ‘Apple Intelligence’ will give you a new floating tab bar, which sits on the top of your apps as a shortcut and morphs into the sidebar. “This will be available as an API for developers and allows for contextual menus inside apps, easier navigation, and the ability to search documents,” Apple explained.
It looks like Apple intelligence has also changed home screen and app personalization options. Apple Intelligence is believed to be coming for new iPads with the M1 chip or newer versions. Apple’s other new AI features include notification prioritization, the ability to summarize information, image creation, and an updated Siri assistant.
