Attention music lovers! Instagram has unveiled a new feature that will let you save songs heard on the platform directly to your Spotify accounts. This integration smoothens the music discovery process for Instagrammers, who can now effortlessly add tracks they enjoy from posts, stories, and Reels with just a few taps.
Music has become an integral part of the Instagram experience, enhancing the creativity of posts and stories. However, until now, users faced a cumbersome process when trying to save a song they liked. Previously, users had to click on the sound in the post to access the song title and artist, then manually search for it on their preferred streaming service.
With the new feature, the experience has become easier. When a user hears a song they like while browsing Instagram, they can tap on the song to open its dedicated card within the app. This card features an “Add” button adorned with the Spotify logo. Once users tap this button, it changes to “Added,” confirming that the song has been saved to their Liked Songs playlist on Spotify. This quick and easy method eliminates the friction previously associated with music discovery on the platform.
Currently, this integration is exclusive to Spotify, which allows users to save songs directly to their Spotify library. The rise of social media as a primary platform for music discovery has transformed how people find their favourite songs. Rather than relying on traditional media like radio or movie soundtracks, users are now turning to platforms like Instagram and Facebook to discover new music.
