Google’s latest flagship smartphone, the Pixel 9 Pro, is set to go on sale in India on October 17, 2024. With a starting price of Rs 1,09,900 for the 16GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, the Pixel 9 Pro is expected to make a significant impact in the premium smartphone market.
The Pixel 9 series, unveiled earlier in August, includes the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and the premium Pixel 9 Pro XL. While the Pixel 9 and Pro XL were made available immediately, the anticipation for the Pixel 9 Pro has been building over the past months.
The Pixel 9 Pro features a 6.3-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display, which boasts a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and a peak brightness of 3000 nits. This display is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and is powered by the Google Tensor G4 chipset, built on a 4nm process by Samsung, which enhances both performance and energy efficiency.
Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the Pixel 9 Pro’s advanced camera system. The rear features a triple-camera setup that includes a 50MP primary lens, a 48MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 48MP telephoto lens capable of 30x digital zoom. For selfies, the phone includes a 42MP front-facing camera, designed to deliver good image quality.
In terms of software, the Pixel 9 Pro runs on Android 14 and is guaranteed to receive seven years of Android updates, Pixel Drops, and security patches, ensuring users will benefit from the latest features and improvements.
Consumers can purchase the Pixel 9 Pro from popular e-commerce platforms like Flipkart, as well as authorised retail stores, including Reliance Digital and Chroma. The specific bank discounts and promotional offers are yet to be revealed.
