Google Drive is rolling out a new feature called Activity Feed that will make it easier to monitor all your recent actions in one place. The Activity Feed will serve as a single place where you can view all recent activity, including all pending access requests, recent comments, and approvals for files.
It will appear as a standalone page that’s accessible from the left-hand navigation panel within Drive. Google points out that there is no admin control for this feature. This means that it is a built-in feature that is available to all users, and administrators do not have the ability to turn it on or off or customise its behaviour. It’s a standard part of the user interface.

To access the features, end users have to follow these instructions.
- Look on the left-hand side, and you’ll see “Activity.” Click on it.
- If you have pending requests to access files, you’ll see them in “Manage access.” Click there to handle them. If you don’t have any, this won’t appear.
- If you need to approve something, you’ll find it in the “Approvals” section. Click “Review” to deal with it.
- If you’ve had comments on files in the last month, they’ll be in the “Comments” section. Click “Open comment” to respond. You’ll get comment notifications if you’ve subscribed to them, been part of the discussion, or someone mentioned you in a comment.
This feature will be available to all Google Workspace customers over the next 15 days.
