ChatGPT rolls out its ChatGPT Search for all users. During an event on December 16, OpenAI announced that its search tool will be available free for all. Both the ChatGPT app and the web version users can get this feature. The company also said that the feature has been improved and can offer you a better user experience. Here’s how the tool has changed how to get yours.
ChatGPT Search available to all!
OpenAI first launched ChatGPT Search in November 2024. Initially the feature was only available to paid subscribers. Now, with the wider rollout, it will be available to everyone having an account in ChatGPT. You don’t need to pay for any subscription model, it’s absolutely free.
The ChatGPT search feature can provide you with the option using ‘ conversational AI.’ Notably, Conversational AI is a natural language interface for users with questions. You can also ask follow-up questions to these AI models.
Other key updates
Apart from the above mentioned features, OpenAI has also launched an optimised version of ChatGPT Search for mobile devices. This version is designed to provide you with an efficient and smooth search experience on tablets and smartphones. Additionally, the feature will also include an advanced voice search mode. This can allow users to ask questions and receive answers through voice prompts. This is similar to the ‘everyday human like’ conversation we have.
In addition to this, OpenAI has introduced real-time video and screen sharing capabilities to the Advanced Voice Mode of its ChatGPT AI chatbot. The company even showcased its new feature during the same event. Users can now share their screens with ChatGPT and request feedback on various tasks. So, how to share your screen with ChatGPT? To share your screen you just need to tap on the three-dot menu. After that the menu will show you the “Share Screen” option. This capability is now accessible on both Android and iOS mobile apps for ChatGPT Plus, Teams and Pro users.
