Hence, on the occasion of Father’s Day, check out some of the best smartwatches that could make your father smile.

Google Pixel Watch 3:

The Pixel Watch 3 arrives in two size options—41mm and 45mm—both featuring Google’s new Actua display, a shift from the AMOLED screens used in the previous generation. According to Google, this upgraded display can reach a peak brightness of 2,000 nits, twice as bright as last year’s model, while dimming down to just 1 nit for low-light conditions. Additionally, the bezels have been trimmed by more than 16%, giving the watch a sleeker appearance.

The Pixel Watch 3 also introduces advanced fitness tools, allowing users to create intricate running routines with metrics like cadence, stride length, and vertical oscillation displayed in real-time. It now includes new features for tracking cardio load and readiness, enabling users to better understand when to rest and recover. Fitbit integration has also been enhanced, offering a new Morning Brief that delivers a snapshot of key health stats and highlights any notable overnight changes.

Apple Watch Series 9:

The latest Apple Watch Series 9 is powered by the new S9 SiP (System in Package), which includes an upgraded second-generation Ultra Wideband (UWB) chip. Apple states that this new chip delivers a 60% performance boost compared to the Series 8. One standout feature is the integration of Siri with on-device access to health data, offering a more seamless and private user experience.

A notable addition is the innovative “Double Tap” gesture, which enables users to perform tasks like answering or ending calls, dismissing alarms, pausing timers, managing music, and launching the camera—simply by tapping their thumb and index finger together. The Series 9 runs on watchOS 10, introducing a redesigned app interface, a new Smart Stack for widgets, fresh watch faces, and improved features for cycling, hiking, and mental wellness.

Inside, the device is equipped with a four-core Neural Engine, significantly enhancing on-device machine learning performance. Apple also claims that voice dictation is now up to 25% more accurate than what was offered in the Series 8.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra:

The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra features a robust 47mm case with dimensions of 47.1 x 47.4 x 12.1mm and a weight of 60.5 grams. Built with a premium titanium-grade body, it sports a 1.5-inch Super AMOLED always-on display (480×480 pixels) that boasts an impressive peak brightness of 3,000 nits. Under the hood, it shares the same processor, storage capacity, and operating system as the Galaxy Watch 7. It also offers 10ATM water resistance for added durability.

Powering the device is a 590mAh battery that supports fast wireless charging via the WPC standard. Samsung claims this model delivers the best battery performance in its lineup, lasting up to 100 hours in power-saving mode and up to 48 hours with workout tracking enabled.

In terms of health and fitness capabilities, it includes all the wellness features found on the Galaxy Watch 7. On top of that, it introduces a new multi-sports tile for logging various workouts in one session, along with a Functional Threshold Power (FTP) tool that helps cyclists gauge their maximum pedaling power.

Google Pixel Watch 2:

The Pixel Watch 2 showcases a sleek 3D curved always-on display with a pixel density of 320ppi and a peak brightness of 1,000 nits, protected by custom Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Under the hood, it runs on a Qualcomm 5100 chipset, supported by 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The smartwatch operates on Wear OS 4.0 right out of the box.

Packed with a wide array of sensors, the Pixel Watch 2 includes a compass, altimeter, 3-axis accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, barometer, and magnetometer. For health monitoring, it features tools like an SpO2 sensor, ECG capability, multi-path optical heart rate tracker, an electrical sensor for skin conductance (cEDA), and a skin temperature monitor for body response insights.

In addition to supporting 40 workout types, the watch delivers in-depth wellness stats such as daily readiness metrics, sleep scores, active zone minutes, and generates a personalized sleep profile to help users better understand and manage their physical well-being.
