Apple has bigger plans for this year and it does not end today with iPhone 16 launch event. The Cupertino-major has a separate surprise event on cards which may take place in October. The company at this event is said to let Apple fanatics lay their eyes on Apple’s new range of Macs and iPads.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple has plans for a second major product launch event this year. Following the highly anticipated iPhone 16 unveiling, the tech giant is gearing up to debut a new lineup of M4-powered Macs and iPads in October.
The new Macs will give a breath of fresh air to Apple’s desktop and tablet offerings. Headlining the announcements is expected to be a long-awaited update to the iPad Mini. This compact tablet hasn’t seen a redesign since 2021, and the new model is rumoured to bring a host of improvements, including a faster processor and potentially a larger display.
Another highlight of the October event is likely to be the introduction of a new Mac Mini powered by the M4 chip. This marks a significant departure from the current design, as Gurman suggests that the new Mac Mini will be significantly smaller and more compact, resembling the Apple TV in size.
In addition to the iPad Mini and Mac Mini, the October event is expected to include updates to the iMac and MacBook Pro. Both of these devices are rumoured to receive a performance boost with the inclusion of M4 chips, offering users even more power and efficiency.
This news comes as a bit of a surprise, given the flurry of product launches Apple has already had this year. The company will today unveil new iPhones, Apple Watches, and AirPods, and there are still rumours circulating about potential updates to the AirPods Max. However, Gurman suggests that the AirPods Max are still in good supply, making a significant refresh unlikely at least for the time being.
With two major product launches in the span of a few weeks, Apple is clearly aiming to maintain its momentum and keep its customers excited about what’s to come.
