Apple’s wide environmental claims and the guest appearance of “Mother Nature” aka Oscar-winning actress Octavia Spencer earned Cupertino the title of environment protector. Mother Nature’s cameo has been received with mixed reactions, some calling it grand, while the other section simply labelling it cringe. Quite valid, the audience is a term, best defined as heterogeneous.
However, contrary to popular belief, a creator who attended at “Wonderlust” event posted a picture on X of cookies packed in plastic packaging, labelled “Welcome to California.”

Nikias Molina wrote on X along with the picture, “Apple gave us cookies at the event. They were so good.” Ever since that post caught attention of people, other social media users saw it as an opportunity to troll Apple for its double standards.
One X user wrote, “Mother Nature has a thing to say about the plastic,” while another said, “Thought Apple was anti plastic”. It was followed by other comments on Apple Cookies, Mother Nature and more.

Regardless of this healthy—ironically—take, Apple says that it is “committed to eliminating plastics” in their “packaging by 2025” and all products by 2030 by making them carbon-neutral.
Cupertino adds that it is “making progress toward our [their] goal of transitioning to 100 percent recycled and renewable materials in our products. In 2022, 20 percent of the materials we shipped in Apple products came from recycled sources, including recycled aluminum, rare earth elements, tin, cobalt, gold, tungsten, steel, brass, copper, and plastic.”
