Is AI going to eat away all human jobs? This lingering question continues to haunt millions of job seekers across the globe. Leaders, however, have a different opinion on AI at work, wherein they consider it a great tool to make lives easier and liberate more time to enhance creativity. Zoho co-founder and chief scientist Sridhar Vembu has frequently voiced his support for AI and now has come up with new advice for beginners.

Vembu has shared insights on how he uses AI tools like ChatGPT daily, describing AI as a ‘good debating partner’ that helps deepen his understanding through critical analysis and interaction. As modern AI chatbots continue to improve their capabilities at responding better in natural languages with a broader understanding of the world, Vembu finds them better suited Sridhar Vembu, Zoho, AI and jobs, AI in the workplace, AI debating partner, Sridhar Vembu on AI, Zoho AI, AI vs human jobs, Future of AI, AI technology, AI for business, AI impact on jobs, Human and AI collaboration, Using AI for creativity, Sridhar Vembu ChatGPT, Artificial Intelligence, AI tools for work, Sridhar Vembu quotes, AI and customer service, AI for small businesses.for debating on various topics and in-depth discussions.

AI bots are good debate partners

Vembu, who claims that he is a moderate to heavy AI user with multiple AI apps on his phone, mentioned recently in a post on X that AI tools have significantly reduced his use of traditional web search by about 80 per cent. He says that AI enables faster and more efficient learning.

However, Vembu also expressed caution against over-reliance and misuse of AI, highlighting that while AI can speed up some tasks like customer support, it should not replace human agents. He added that AI-generated content be copied and sent to customers without disclosing its origin. Vembu said that human review and compliance for AI-generated code is necessary. Neglecting privacy, security, and compliance checks can negate the productivity gains AI might offer.

Don’t replace humans with AI

“AI can help customer support agents do their work faster, but it is unwise to let AI replace human agents. It is also unwise for a human to copy-paste AI text and send it to a customer, hiding the fact that it came from AI,” Vembu added.

As far as work at Zoho is concerned, Vembu highlighted that Zoho regularly experiments with AI tools and remains open to revising its stance as new data emerges. He showcased his approach by using outputs from one AI system to challenge or critique outputs from another, all in the interest of deepening insights and understanding.
