In less than a day after Apple’s WWDC 2025 keynote event, Samsung tried its luck in hogging the limelight with a big hardware announcement. Samsung’s next-generation Galaxy Z foldables are expected to debut in July 2025 and weeks ahead of the next Galaxy Unpacked event, the South Korean giant has dropped an official teaser. A short video showcases a familiar single-fold device that appears to be ultra slim, with Ultra being the keyword.
Based on the short teaser video, it seems that Samsung has showcased the Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra ahead of the launch. While the video highlights the device’s slim form factor, it seems that Samsung will utilise the ‘Ultra’ nametag for its slimmest foldable smartphone. Other than the slim profile of the device, another astonishing feature seems to be the lack of any camera module protrusion.
Could this be a sign of Samsung going with a simpler single camera setup to go for a uniform, slim, and flat design? Or could this be just a generic representation of the device? It seems we need to wait for Samsung to make an official announcement.

“Samsung engineers and designers are refining each generation of the Galaxy Z series to be thinner, lighter and more durable than the last,” says Samsung. “The newest Galaxy Z series is the thinnest, lightest and most advanced foldable yet — meticulously crafted and built to last,” adds the press release.
Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra expected price, specs
Although the leaks and rumours are scarce at the moment, Samsung could rely on some tried-and-tested aspects from its Galaxy S25 series devices. The phone could be built around the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and Samsung could be utilising a silicon carbide battery technology for achieving a perfect balance between stamina and slimness. The Ultra could drop support for the S Pen stylus in a bid to lose fat, and there may be fewer cameras too, as made evident by the packaging of the Galaxy S25 Edge, a phone with sacrificed a telephoto camera and battery capacity for going slim.
