Three morning routines you can’t ignore if you want to turn into a boss lady

“Having a very set morning routine is a luxury for a lot of women,” is a reality for many women today. What’s the best morning routine for you?

Reflect, hydrate, update, and restart – should be the mantra for peaceful mornings.

We have all heard the saying ‘early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise’. Let’s look at what a woman is doing in the early hours of her day. Business Insider’s interview with women at the top of their league reveals how diverse morning routines are and how each of them can suit your lifestyle.

While there is no sure-shot recipe for success, there is also no morning routine that can make one a millionaire overnight. However, these leading women seem to have cracked the balance between morning routine and the morning blues. Be it as simple as sipping lemon water or avoiding screens for an hour after you’re awake, these simple takeaways can change your mornings forever.

Leveraging tech-vantage

Stephanie Davis, an equity researcher in a high-pressure environment, uses her AI voice assistant to avoid screens early in the morning. It runs her through her calendar and helps her mentally prepare for the day. “Having a very set morning routine is a luxury for a lot of women,” she told BI. Not being a fan of loud alarm clocks, she invested in a mattress pad that wakes up an individual with heat, allowing her to start her morning on a gentle note, not startled by sound.

Movement therapy

Be it hitting the gym or simply walking, movement is a key aspect in the morning routine of successful people. Endorphins that rush out the morning blues also elevate happy hormones that can potentially determine your mood for the day. A former dancer from Beyonce’s crew told Business Insider that she has dance parties once she wakes up. If not, she makes it a point to move around and sweat it out in the gym with cardio and functional training.

Take a breather

For those already in a fast-paced workplace, you can choose to take a minute of your morning to be mindful. Reflect, hydrate, update, and restart. Bobbi Brown, the fashion mogul, had something similar to share with BI. She told BI that on most days she “wakes up around 6:30 a.m., lets her dogs outside, and then has her first of three morning drinks”. She indulges in some social media scrolling and pairs it with her daily protein intake.

“I try to make the best choices as much as possible, but not beat myself up when I do something that doesn’t make me feel great,” she said. While women try to juggle all the multitude of roles that they play, they can also practice what Brown calls “intuitive wellness”, where your body communicates its needs with you.
