Shah Rukh Khan may soon receive a 2,800 sq ft apartment in Mumbai as Sri Lotus Developers prepares to launch a luxury project. The project is likely to launch in the first half of FY27 with a mix of 4BHK and 5BHK apartments. The actor owns a sea-facing home in the soon-to-be-redeveloped Shree Amrit Society in suburban Bandra.

What is the project?

According to a Hindustan Times report, the project is expected to generate a topline of Rs 1,500 crore to Rs 2,000 crore. The redevelopment project was entrusted to Sri Lotus Developers and Realty Limited — a real estate firm backed by the Khan family trust, and prominent investors such as Amitabh Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan — in June this year. Chairman and Managing Director Anand Pandit also told the publication that it would have a saleable area of 1.35 lakh sq ft. Construction is set to be completed in about thee to four years once the site is vacated.

The report cited the company to add that each flat owner would receive 155% additional area post-redevelopment. Its premium location on Carter Road also commands high real estate prices. The developer is expected to sell apartments in the building for around Rs 1.50 lakh sq ft.

2,800 sq ft flat for SRK?

Khan had purchased the sea-facing home in the Shree Amrit Society in the 1990s — soon after his marriage to Gauri Khan. It was notable as his first acquisition in Mumbai and holds significant sentimental value for the couple. The 4,000 sq metre plot comprises three wings and stands around three kilometeres away from his iconic Mannat bungalow. Earlier reports indicate that it is a 3BHK apartment on the seventh floor which was up for rent at one point for Rs 3 lakh per month.

Sources told HT that the actor was expected to get a 4BHK apartment of around 2,800 sq ft once the redevelopment is concluded.
