Designed by Robert Dumas in the 1930s, the Hermès Kelly bag was named in honour of actress-cum-royal Grace Kelly, who was photographed wearing it several times in 1956.

The brand even immortalised it through a fine jewellery line dedicated entirely to its legacy. The Kellymorphose collection reinterprets the timeless silhouette of the Kelly bag into exquisite bracelets, necklaces, and rings. Its signature details, the clasp, lock, and structured form—are transformed into pieces of art crafted from precious metals and gemstones, including miniature silver “Sac Bijou” bags and diamond-encrusted pendants.
The Sac Bijou itself stands out as both functional and ornamental, a sculptural masterpiece. Available in shades of rose gold, white gold, velvety black, and sterling silver, and adorned with baguette-cut diamonds, it’s a creation designed to be worn as a necklace, bracelet, or even a ring, where the bag becomes jewellery.
One of the rarest from the collection, the Kellymorphose Sac Bijou in sterling silver, features a mock front flap that echoes the classic Kelly design. Its chainmail body, short strap, and intricate shoulder-necklace with miniature clochette, lock, and key details add to its allure. The piece, part of Hermès’ Kellymorphose Fine Jewellery 2022 collection, reflects the house’s signature trapezoidal structure and artisanal precision—an exquisite fusion of fashion and fine art.
