Chaudhry’s upbringing took place in Panoh village of Himachal Pradesh, and was marked with lots of difficulties. He was born into a farmer’s household without basic amnesties and because of this reason, he used to study under a tree. His dedication made him walk 4 kilometres daily to attend school in the nearby village named Dhusara.
After performing well in his studies, Chaudhry earned a degree in electronics at IIT Varanasi (now known as IIT-BHU). He shifted to the United States in 1980 where he was granted a master’s degree from the University of Cincinnati and later completed an executive program from Harvard School Business School.
Chaudhry’s entrepreneurial journey started in 1996 when he and his wife Jyoti invested their savings into SecureIT, a company which dealt with internet security. After acquiring it, he set up many other successful ventures like AirDefense and Cipher Trust.
In 2007, he launched Zscaler, which has turned into a global player in cloud-based security solutions. The company is processing billions of transactions daily and also serves Fortune 500 companies. Chaudhary’s vision has transformed Zscaler into a major company in the fight against cyber threats.
Despite achieving success, Chaudhry is also involved in giving back to society. He has donated millions to the field of education, healthcare and others.
