Mastizaade box office collections of Rs 5.59 cr on day 1 have made it Sunny Leone’s third highest Opening Day grosser. Sunny Leone-Tusshar Kapoor starrer Mastizaade was released on Friday, January 29, 2016.
While Sunny Leone’s previous releases Ragini MMS 2 and Jism 2 collected 8.43 cr and 6.20 cr respectively on the opening day, Kucch Kucch Locha managed to collect just Rs 0.75 cr on day 1.
Milap Zaveri directed sex comedy, Mastizaade had released to mixed reactions and as such is suffering at the B.O. The film features Sunny Leone in a double role along with Tusshar Kapoor and Vir Das.
Early reports had suggested that Mastizaade has got off to a less than average start with occupancy rate being pegged at 30% during morning shows and the first day’s take has mirrored this in reality.
Mastizaade has not really received any boost from the fact that Sunny Leone got so much publicity ahead of its release due to a controversial interview in a TV channel. In fact, even superstar Aamir Khan had come out in support of the actress, putting the spotlight squarely on the movie.
