Actor, dancer, and fitness enthusiast Malaika Arora has long been admired for her glowing skin, defined jawline, and youthful appearance. While her flawless features may seem effortless, Arora credits her sculpted face and healthy glow to more than just good genes. Her secret – consistent face yoga as a part of the beauty routine she swears by.
Malaika, known for championing holistic wellness, incorporates facial exercises into her regular yoga practice. She often emphasises the importance of natural methods to maintain healthy skin and avoid premature ageing. Recently, her face yoga coach, Vibhuti Arora, opened up about the actor’s go-to routine and why it works.
“Malaika, she loves the balloon exercise. It’s actually popularised as the balloon pose on YouTube, but in my book, it is the slapping piano exercise,” said Vibhuti. “This is a brilliant exercise for collagen boosting, face lifting, plumpening and pre-makeup, instead of ice facial — try this and you will get a nice, natural flush and you won’t need a highlighter. You will radiate, you will glow inside out.”
Malaika’s yoga studio, Sarva Yoga, also shared a clip on Instagram not long ago, of the star performing three facial exercises — Balloon Pose, Face Tapping Pose, and Fish Pose — as part of her #MalaikasMoveOfTheWeek series. The video quickly gained traction among fans looking to adopt a more natural skincare regimen.
“Don’t we all look for natural ways to get healthy and glowing skin? This #MalaikasMoveOfTheWeek treat your skin with love with these 3 facial exercises,” the caption read.
Here’s a closer look at each exercise Malaika recommends:
1.Balloon Pose
In the video, Malaika inflates her cheeks with air and uses her fingers to gently press against her lips, holding the air inside for a few seconds before releasing it. According to her yoga studio, this pose helps stimulate blood flow, giving the skin a refreshed and energized look.
2.Face Tapping Pose
For this movement, the actress lightly tapped her face and neck with the tips of her fingers. “Tapping gives a flushed, natural glow to the skin, as it stimulates blood circulation,” Malaika shared. The gentle motion is also said to help prevent fine lines and wrinkles over time.
3.Fish Pose
To perform the third asana, Malaika drew her cheeks inward and tilted her head back, creating a stretch through her jaw and neck area. The Fish Pose targets the lower face and is known to help tone the chin and jawline, a common area of concern for many.
For those looking to enhance their skincare routine without relying heavily on products, Malaika’s facial yoga sequence offers a natural, accessible, and effective alternative.
