In an unexpected twist at Paris Fashion Week, Louis Vuitton has sparked hilarious reactions with a handbag shaped like an Indian auto rickshaw. The design, part of the brand’s Men’s Spring/Summer 2026 lineup, has sent social media in a frenzy for its playful yet culturally rooted concept.
While the collection drew attention for its Indian-inspired elements, the standout accessory, a three-wheeled handbag, was not featured during the main runway presentation. Instead, it surfaced during a re-see event the following day.
The bag was first shared online by anonymous fashion insider and commentator Diet Paratha, who posted images of the item on Instagram. The post included a tongue-in-cheek caption: “Did this bag just colonise me? Jokingggggg… NRIs are gonna go crazy for this one tho.” They added, “Really wish they had showcased this on the runway last night. I spotted it on top of a shelf during the re-see this morning.”
Constructed in Louis Vuitton’s classic monogram leather, the novelty handbag replicates the form of an auto rickshaw, complete with detailed handlebars and tiny wheels. The bag’s craftsmanship combines whimsical design with luxury materials, turning a utilitarian symbol of Indian transport into a fashion-forward art piece.

The brand has previously created bags shaped like objects including airplanes, toolboxes, and lobsters. However, this auto-themed piece strikes a unique chord due to its cultural context and the contrast between everyday function and luxury branding.
Unsurprisingly, the bag’s unveiling set off a wave of reactions online. From fashion fans to casual users, social media users had plenty to say. “Middle-class struggle is high-class couture,” one commenter wrote. Another wrote, “If I see a South Delhi aunty stepping out of her Audi with this, I will become violent.”
Though the price of the handbag has not been officially disclosed, it is expected to come with a premium tag, making it more of a luxury collectible than everyday utility.
