Step into the Roshan family home in Mumbai and the first thing you’ll notice isn’t just the striking chandeliers or the jewel-toned sofas—though they’re certainly hard to miss. What truly stands out is the warm, inviting energy that instantly puts you at ease. It’s a home that balances elegance with emotion, style with substance. And as Sunaina Roshan, sister of actor Hrithik Roshan, reveals in a recent home tour, it’s a space built on love, memories, and togetherness. We take a look at War 2 star Hrithik Roshan’s massive family home.

“For me, home means family. And for me, family means togetherness, love—unconditional love and support. That is what family means to me,” she shares, her words echoing the very essence of the space she walks us through.

The Roshans moved into this home in the early 2000s, a shift from the smaller home they once lived in just across the street. That previous house, Sunaina says, holds just as many cherished memories.

“We moved into this house around 2001 or 2002, it’s been about 24 or 25 years now. Before this, we lived in a small house right across the street. That was the first house dad bought after renting for so long, so it had a lot of emotional value. It was small and cosy, and the rooms were so close that we always interacted, it was a real joint family home.”

The current home, spacious and thoughtfully designed, reflects the personalities and values of the people who live in it. And when it came to doing up the interiors, it was a true family affair.

“I planned my own bedroom. But it was mom, dad and Suzanne who did most of the house. We’re simple people and wanted to keep it minimal, not flashy. I really believe your house reflects who you are.”

That sentiment shows up in every corner – from the soft textures to the personal touches, and especially around the dining table, which Sunaina says has always played a big role in their lives.

“I used to be a foodie, let me put it that way. Dad still is, and so is my nephew. My mom always jokes that if my brother wasn’t an actor, he’d be in the Guinness Book of Records as the fattest man—he loves food that much!” she laughs.

The house has witnessed its share of quiet dinners, spirited get-togethers, and everything in between. Filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, the family patriarch, takes particular pride in the home’s upkeep.

“He’s very house-proud. He’ll always say, ‘There should be a picture here, and another one there.’ He entertains his friends near the bar—that’s his zone.”

One of the most charming features of the home? A card room, where Rakesh Roshan regularly gathers with his closest friends. It’s not just about playing a game; it’s a ritual steeped in nostalgia and connection.

“He’s been playing with the same group of friends for over 40–45 years now. It’s more about bonding than cards.”

While the Roshan residence may seem grand on the surface, it’s the stories behind the walls—the laughter, the memories, the decades of shared experiences—that give it heart. It’s not just a celebrity home tour. It’s a look inside a space that’s very much lived in, deeply loved, and unmistakably personal.
