Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh Bhavnani has sold two flats in suburban Western Express Highway for a consideration of Rs 15.25 crore.
The flats with an area of Rs 1,324 sq feet each was registered with a total stamp duty of Rs 91 lakhs. The flat is located on the 43rd floor of Oberoi Exquisite in Western Express Highway, documents accessed by Indextap.com said.
Western Expressway commands a price ranging from Rs 22,261- Rs25,000 per sq ft depending upon the projects.
Several Bollywood personalities have been actively investing in real estate to diversify their portfolio. Actors, including Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor and Akshay Kumar are among other who have made investments in real estate.
In October, Mumbai recorded 10,601 deed registrations for the properties, contributing to a revenue of Rs 835.32 crore, as per data available with Maharashtra’s department of registration and stamps. This is the highest number of registrations notched in October in the last 11 years.
A latest report by real estate consultancy Anarock Group pointed that the luxury housing segment maintain a seemingly unstoppable growth curve in 2023, with overall sales rising steeply across the top seven cities. A total of 3.49 lakh units sold in major cities cities in the first nine months of 2023, about 24% or approximately 84,400 units were luxury homes priced over Rs 1.5 crore.
MMR, NCR and Hyderabad outperformed other cities in housing sales in the nine months of the current year with the three cities together accounting for 63,390 units sold, as against 30,820 in the same period last year.
MMR saw luxury housing sales increase by 74% annually – from approximately 20,820 units in nine months of 2022 to approximately 36,130 units in the nine months of 2023. The city saw approximately 1,11,280 units sold across all budget categories in the nine months of 2023, of which the luxury share was 32%.
