After supporting his son cricketer Sarfaraz Khan through his 17-kg weight loss journey, Naushad Khan, his 55-year-old father and coach has embarked on his own, stunning with a massive weight loss of 38 kg. In a matter of six months, the coach of cricketers like Iqbal Abdulla and Kamran Khan, achieved the remarkable feat and reached 84 kg from 122 kg. Looking unrecognisable in the before-and-after transformation picture, Naushad has proved age isn’t a limitation when it comes to setting new fitness goals.
As Khan trained sons, Sarfaraz and Musheer, to boost their cricket performance, he introduced drastic changes in the family diet, eliminating junk to incorporate wholesome and nutrient-filled foods. With more protein, fibre, and healthy fat in their diet, and an intense fitness regime, the family has got fitter than ever, thanks to Naushad who painstakingly created the routine.
How Naushad lost 38 kg in 6 months
Now, he is leading by example having lost close to 40 kg. In a recent clip, Naushad shared glimpses of what goes into his fitness routine and it looks quite intense. His swift movements in the video show how shedding weight has improved his body flexibility.
Apart from dietary changes, a rigrous fitness routine including weight training, cardio exercises, treadmill sessions, swimming, became an integral part of burning calories and aided fat loss.
“I am happy to share that I have completed 6 months and what I started on 11 April, and it’s 11th October today. I am very happy that I accomplished what I aimed for. And the benefit is that I’m able to do what I could do 20-25 years back,” shared Naushad.
Sarfaraz’s inspiring weight loss journey
Sarfaraz started his fitness journey after he missed getting selected for the senior India team, and lost almost 10 kilos in just six weeks to prepare himself for the India A tour of England. His ongoing fitness effort is to make sure he makes it to the team.
Sarfaraz’s diet was designed to include fibre-rich foods like fruits, salads, broccoli and cucumbers, high protein foods like grilled fish, chicken and boiled eggs, and avocados for good fats. Roti, rice, sugar, and baked items were completely eliminated.
What motivated Naushad to lose kilos
In an earlier clip shared by both Sarfaraz and Musheer, Naushad said his motivation behind losing so much weight was to feel youthful again and to be able to play again with his grandchildren.
A part of the motivation also came from a little teasing by son Musheer who used to pinch his belly and ask ‘what about this’ when he trained him and focus on his fitness.
